When I shut down my computer, every other gadget closes. I have to force close sidebar for this one. I have it installed on another computer, but this does not occur on it (I think). Will try copying gadget files from it when I have a moment.

No log is necessary right now, thanks, I can see the problems with my calendar too. The providers might have changed something in the calendar code, I need to analyze it now. I'll try to solve it asap, this is crucial...

I'm running some tests and it seems you are right! It shouldn't be caused by the update, but I'll double check the code and come up with a solution soon...

I've unticked the "use reminder application" check box in the options, but get reminder alerts nevertheless.
I just want the gadget to display events and not to remind me via popup alerts.

using google calendar, when i update (move/delete/edit) an appointment, the gadget still shows the original appointment (and the updated one too). this only happens with repeating appointments; single event appointments seem to work fine.
It is almost like the calendar is reading the original dates, and not catching the exceptions.

I use 2 widgets with different calendars in parallel, but after most of the system starts the 2 widgets show the same calendar (not always). After a manual refresh (go settings and back) the problem disappear.

Hi, I set this up using ical / Gmail on a (Win 7 32 ) and love it, thanks.

Then I did the exact same on another computer (Win 7 64) and it does not load the calendar data, it is stuck on "Loading".

Please help and I will donate!

Every once in awhile, the following message box pops up:

Could not load the calendar:
"http://wlcalendargadget.codeplex.com/Project/ProjectRss.aspx"

The message occurs periodically if it is on my desktop, and also occurs right away whenever I add it to the desktop. An uninstall and reinstall of the gadget does not help. The issue could NOT be reproduced on my other computer (both are Win 7 64-bit).

I noticed this first last night, but my computer has been out of commission for about a week, so I can't be sure that's when it began. Have a strong internet connection, so that shouldn't be a factor.

every time I put in the ical link from google calendar in the settings, there is an error that says could not load calendar (0): then it has the link, could anyone help me?

If the event dates are in UTC(Z-postfixed) the dates are not converted into the system timezone.

ICS Snippet:

DTSTART:20120607T130000Z
DTEND:20120607T140000Z

The time is shown as 1pm and 2pm which should be ideally converted based on the system timezone.

The ics doesnot contain any timezone component. This ics files which can be even from remote server works well in email clients like thunderbird and outlook.

Hello,

I am having two issues that may or may not be related.

The first is, when I copy and paste the ICAL url into the settings window, I receive this message:

"Could not load the calendar (0): http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/alaska.edu...."

I am able to click on this link in the Google calendar and save as an ics file, which I can then load by browsing to the file which was saved locally on my machine.

This is where the second problem comes into play, the calendar is then displayed correctly, but the gadget does not show any changes or updates I make in the Google calendar.

I have spent a great deal of time searching for answers, and have tried the following trouble shooting steps:

I pasted the ICAL url in a browser: everything is fine there

I have tried other gadgets that require internet connection: All work fine

I have tried multiple Google calendars: All with the same result.

I have tried to reset the Private URLs: No changes

I tried the entire workflow described above with the xml link in the calendar: same results

Other considerations:

IE is not my default browser (Mozilla)

The current associated program to open the .ics is set to Notepad.

I am running windows 7 home premium x64

Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance for your help. I really love this gadget, and want to keep using it.

For some odd reason, or plain stupidity on my part; I have download and installed, uninstalled and reinstalled WLCG and it continues to say there is a _New Version Available!_

Is this an issue or just a temporary notice to users?

unfortunately no.
I have tried to reset the calendar private url but it don't change anything.
If I set the url with http:// or https:// the error message is always
"Could not load the calendar (0):
__https://__....."
Does it help you?
(I have updated wlcg to the latest versione, of course)

Also, maybe because of the update, and maybe because I changed to google, I don't receive pop-up reminders anymore (on any computer).
