Hi, sorry for my late answer, this procedure should work for you:
  1. Sign in to your Hotmail Calendar using this link.
  2. Click on Share located at the top part of your screen and select the calender which you’d like to transfer.
  3. Choose the option which says "Send friends a view only link to your calendar" then click on ICS: import into another calendar application.
  4. A new dialog box will appear. Copy the link.
  5. Open a new browser. Paste the link that you previously copied then replace the word webcal at the beginning of the address with http and hit Enter.
  6. A new dialog box will appear. Please click on Save to download your calendar’s ICS as a .ics file.

I'm not sure if I'm responding to your question, but I have had an issue getting the Windows Live Calendar Gadget to update when I modify my Outlook calendar. I found a most painful solution, but it works.
  1. Modify you Outlook calendar
  2. Click on Share
  3. Choose your calendar
  4. choose Links to event details
  5. Click "Reset Links"
  6. Copy link in "Import into other calendar applications (ICS)" box
  7. Close Share window
  8. Open Windows Calendar Gadget "Options"
  9. Select and delete you calendar URL in "Url's of Calendars" box
  10. Past the link you copied in step 6 into "Url's of Calendars" box
  11. Click "OK"
Should work, but I don't understand why Calendar Gadget doesn't auto update???
